GCG to Issue More Full Tilt Poker Payments on June 12

$15 million in payments set for this Thursday.

  • The GCG is warning that not all “approved for payment” Petitioners have provided complete and accurate bank account information.
  • Such individuals will receive payment in a future distribution. If the Group does not receive updated bank account data from those Petitioners by June 25, it will send a check to the corresponding mailing address included in the petition.
  • Three major groups—former FTP Pros, affiliates and those with disputed balances—have yet to be approved for remission.

Betfred Exits Key Markets for Regulatory Reasons

Players have 30 days to withdraw their funds after which accounts will be “unavailable.”

  • Betfred has withdrawn from more than a dozen markets as of Monday June 9.
  • The reason for the withdrawal has been given as “regulatory and general licensing processes”
  • An email which has been sent to players explains that funds must be withdrawn “within 30 days as access to your account will be unavailable beyond then.”

PPA Survey of California Online Poker Players Shows Broad Support for PokerStars

Consumer sentiment appears to heavily favor PokerStars’ entrance into California market.

  • A whopping 95% of those polled think that PokerStars should be licensed in California if online poker is eventually legalized in the state.
  • Last year, the PPA conducted a similar survey asking New Jersey members if they supported the AGA’s attempt to block PokerStars’ license application}—94% did not.
  • The PPA has had a close relationship PokerStars, with the organization having received a large portion of its funding and membership from PokerStars in past years.
