Borgata’s $9.6 million claim against Phil Ivey now has a legal timetable.

  • Phil Ivey’s “edge sorting” legal dispute with the Borgata Hotel Casino and Spa is now working to a legal timetable.
  • Last week representatives of the parties involved appeared in Camden New Jersey for a Scheduling Conference, the results of which have determined deadlines for future proceedings.
  • Ivey’s alleged partner during the Crockfords and Borgata incidents, Cheng Yin Sun, has filed a case against the Foxwoods Casino after the casino refused to pay her and two co-plaintiffs $1.148 million in winnings they had accumulated at the tables using the edge sorting technique in 2011.

Humberto Brenes Leaves Team PokerStars

After eight years, Humberto “The Shark” Brenes exits the PokerStars family.

  • After eight years as a PokerStars Team Pro, Humberto Brenes has called it a day.
  • There were no tears at the end. “I’m very grateful with the owners, peaceful, happy, and very pleased to have been part of this company for many years,” said Brenes.
  • “The amount of sponsored players could be reduced, but that’s up to the new administration. I don’t see it possible that the company could hire new faces for the team.”
