PPA Launches “Fight Back” Campaign During Congressional Recess

The Poker Players Alliance is asking poker players to fight back against efforts to ban online poker in the US.

  • The PPA is encouraging poker players to reach out to their federal representatives while Congress is in recess. This presents an opportunity to meet with members of Congress in their districts.
  • As part of this campaign, the PPA is providing tools to make it easier for players’ voices to be heard. A new section of the PPA website provides a step-by-step guide to schedule an appointment with your Representatives and Senators.

WSOP and Ultimate Poker Adopt NETELLER Payment Processing Solution

Sightline cards provided via NETELLER are already in use by New Jersey operators.

  • Both Ultimate Poker and WSOP Nevada have announced that they will be offering payment cards to help solve problems players have in depositing and withdrawing from US state regulated sites.
  • The US version of NETELLER’s Net+ is a pre-paid Discover card that players can use to make deposits and withdrawals, with access to cash via ATM machines.
  • Once WSOP and Ultimate Poker have their branded cards in place, all the major operators in Nevada and New Jersey will have adopted the NETELLER solution.

Partypoker Shoots for $500k Sunday Major

Players who buy in directly will get an extra $500 clearable bonus if they cash in the event.

  • On May 11, partypoker will run a special edition of its $200 buy in Sunday Major. The tournament guarantee has been increased from the regular $200k to $500k for the occasion.
  • Players who buy in directly for the full $200 will receive a special $500 bonus if they cash in the event. The bonus must be cleared over 30 days.
  • If traffic grows as partypoker bosses hope, the return of the partypoker $1m guarantee will not be far behind.

World Poker Tour #SHRPO – Young, D’Angelo Get Paid, Day 1b Underway

Cash prizes were rained upon the top two in chips at the 2014 World Poker Tour Seminole Hard Rock Poker Showdown and it was a couple of well-known pros who bagged the big money. Justin Young ended the night with 313k in chips (from a starting stack of 30k) to nab the big 5k first place prize while Ryan “g0lfa” D’Angelo pocketed 2.5k for his 271k stack.
