WSOP is Market Leader in New Jersey, Asserts Poker Head
WSOP NJ’s 32% cash game market share puts it above any one operator.
- There are two poker rooms on the partypoker New Jersey network—Borgata and PartyPoker—and, according to Rini, the former represents approximately 75% of that network.
- With WSOP at 32% of the market, it puts it above any one operator.

Illinois Not Considering Online Gaming Until After It Can Agree On New Casinos
Illinois Senate President John Cullerton says it will be “hard to thread the needle” on that land based casino bill.
- Illinois Senate President John Cullerton has been active in supporting a bill to allow state regulated online poker, but in a press interview he has said that it won’t happen until after there is an agreement on new land based casinos.
- Cullerton was hopeful on the prospects for a quick resolution of the issue.
Adelson’s Fellow Board Member Buys 51 Million Shares in bwin.party
Jason Ader says that he and Adelson agreed to disagree.
- Las Vegas Sands Corporation non-Executive Director Jason Ader has bought 51m shares in bwin.party.
- Chairman Sheldon Adelson’s anti-online poker campaign is in full flow, but according to Ader, Adelson made no objection to the purchase.
- Now that Ader has the requisite shareholding, he could theoretically sit on both boards, the Las Vegas Sands and bwin.party.

Twelve tribes denounce removal of a “bad actor” clause from any online poker legislation in the state.
- A group of twelve California tribes have come together to oppose the removal of a “bad actor” clause from proposed online poker legislation in California.
- The stance has come in response to reports that emerged last week indicating that PokerStars was joining forces with the Morongo Band of Mission Indians and multiple card rooms in California to oppose the inclusion of any language in proposed legislation that would prevent PokerStars from entering the market.
