WSOP Warns Non-US Players: Bring Proof of Address
Anti-money laundering regulations are behind the requirement according to WSOP’s Seth Palansky.
- The implementation of US anti-money laundering regulations means that players at this year’s WSOP will be required to show a photo ID and provide proof of their address.
- The WSOP said that the inability to prove residency would not prevent players from playing in WSOP events, but will prevent them from withdrawing funds after playing online while they are in Nevada.

- The next online poker hearing in California will take place in June—there are currently bills before both houses of the legislature to introduce state regulated online poker.
