“Restore the Shore” Charity Events at partypoker New Jersey

Half of the $20 buy in will go to Hometown Heroes and partypoker will match the total amount raised.

  • From January 4, partypoker New Jersey will be running a series of six charity tournaments to support the non-profit Hometown Heroes organization.
  • The benefits will go to six towns on the New Jersey shore affected by Hurricane Sandy in 2012.
  • Each tournament will have a $20 buy in, half of which will go to the prize pool and the rest will be donated directly to Hometown Heroes.
  • As an extra motivation, partypoker will match each tournament’s donations dollar for dollar.

Everest Poker France Rolls Out iPoker’s New Native Mobile Clients

iOS and Android native apps debut with cash tables and Speed Poker. Tournaments coming in April 2014.

  • EverestPoker France has released its new mobile app after three weeks in beta testing.
  • New native apps are available for all iPhones and iPads, and most Android phones and tablets.
  • It features cash game tables at No Limit Hold’em and Pot Limit Omaha with fast fold Speed Poker available for Hold’em.
  • Tournaments are not yet supported, but will be added by April, 2014.

Caesars and Tropicana Offer $23.4m to Gut Atlantic Club

Caesars get the hotel and casino, the Tropicana will take the machines, and the Club will close on January 13.

  • Tropicana Entertainment and Caesars Entertainment have offered $23.4m to buy the Atlantic Club.
  • The offer will be submitted to a bankruptcy judge for approval on Monday December 23.
  • For $15m, Caesars will take the hotel with its 800 rooms, but close it down until further notice. The Tropicana will pay $8.4m and take 1,641 slot machines and 48 table games.
  • Caesars has no plans to operate the club which will close down on January 13.

LiveAce Closes After Only Four Months

Players can redeem money in their accounts until March 2014.

  • LiveAce has posted a notice announcing that the site has suspended operations.
  • LiveAce launched in August using a subscription based model that allowed it to offer online poker to US residents.
  • “Cash redemption requests will continue to be honored until March 1.” Redemptions can be made either to cash processor Dwolla, or be sent by check to players’ registered addresses.
  • The notice explains that the site failed to achieve financial viability.
