WSOPE Main Event Final Table Is Set

The Main Event of the 7th Annual World Series of Poker Europe played down to their final table yesterday leaving only six players to compete for the €1,000,000 first place prize and the title of WSOP Europe Main Event Champion.

  • With Thursday being a planned day off, the final six will return on Friday to play down to a winner with everyone at the table guaranteed no less than a €126,000 payday.

While onling gaming is being called the “new frontier”, Pennsylvania Gaming Control Board Chairman Bill Ryan doesn’t yet see a groundswell in his state to jump on the onling gaming bandwagon. With both moral and religious opposition, as well as “significant regulatory, technical and legal hurdles to overcome” the state of PA may not see online poker anytime soon, but still officials are taking a look at it.

“We do know that Internet gaming is a very big deal,” Ryan said. They just want to make sure online gaming doesn’t hurt their brick-and-mortar businesses.
