  • The Swiss Federal Government has published the draft of a new gaming bill that will allow regulated online gambling for the first time.
  • The bill also includes provisions to make all winnings from gambling tax free.
  • The bill is now out for consultation until August 20.

  • Real Gaming became the third online poker operator to go live in the state.
  • Originally they were tipped to be the first to market.

Finnish Ray.FI €100k Tournament Fails to Finish

Technical problems plague scheduled 2-day event at Finland’s regulated online poker room.

  • Ray.Fi, attempted a two day €100,000 guaranteed tournament at the weekend—and it ended in disaster.
  • The tournament was supposed to break at the end of play on Saturday, to resume on Sunday, but the break never happened.
  • The tournament organizers halted the event.
  • The €100,000 was split into two halves, half being divided equally among the remaining players, and half being allocated according to the number of chips a player had in his stack when the tournament was stopped.

Bad Beat Diaries – Golden Nugget AC Pays Out $50k in First Ever Bad Beat Jackpot

Low limit grinders enjoy a hefty payday. Last week, the Golden Nugget AC poker room paid out $50,545 in their first ever Bad Beat Jackpot to a crew of old school grinders. The rugged lot were sitting at a 2-4-6 Limit Hold’em game, when according to comments on the Golden Nugget Facebook page (so take it with the appropriate grains of salt) a Royal Flush took out Quad Jacks for the win.
