Duncan McLellan Victorious At UKIPT Isle Of Man

PokerStars Qualifier Duncan McLellan outlasted the field of 379 to claim the title of inaugural United Kingdom Ireland Poker Tour (UKIPT) Isle of Man Champion and the £94,090 first place prize. It would take only roughly five hours to play out the final table and, in the end, McLellan won a “classic race” against popular Team PokerStars SportStar Fatima Moreira de Melo for all the chips.

PokerHost Accused of Banning Winning Players

Amid accustaions that PokerHost is banning winning players on orders from Merge, it has also brought its VIP program and P2P transfer policy into line with the network.

  • Players re reporting that they have been banned from PokerHost for flimsy reasons and that they have been informed that their real offence has been to be winning players.
  • Reported conversations with PokerHost imply that the actions have been taken after directions from the Merge network itself.
  • PokeHost has brought its VIP program into line with top skins Carbon and Aced Poker.
  • It has also accepted the network wide prohibition on player to player transfers.

Odd Oddsen Challenges Norway’s Politicians to a Heads Up Match and Gets a Taker

Norwegian politician Erlend Wiborg can’t resist the chance to take a million Kroner from one of the world’s best players.

  • Norwegian Progress Party politician has accepted a challenge by “Odd Oddsen” to play heads up for one million Kroner.
  • Oddsen issued the challenge to any Norwegian politician to promote legalisation of online poker.
  • Erlend Wiborg has accepted the challenge because he and his party support market liberalization.
  • In practise, taking the time to play 10k hands of heads up PLO outside Norway may be a little too much to ask.

Revolution Network Rebuts Lock, Claims it Owes “Large Growing Debt”

In a statement issued regarding the departure of Lock Poker and subsequent claims of network impropriety, IAA Services Limited, owners of the Revolution Gaming Network have fired back with claims of “significant” money owed.

  • Revolution stated: “Due to lack of payment to the Network and a large growing debt, the Network had no choice but to eventually segregate Lock players almost entirely from Network cash games.”
  • Shane Bridges, spokesperson and Social Media Director of Lock Poker, denied the claim that money was owed from Lock to the network.

Ivey League: Phil Ivey Poker Training Coming Soon

IveyPoker has posted the news that the Ivey League will be launched soon. According to the website, where players can sign up for an email notification of the launch, “Ivey League will help you learn to play poker with live play videos and in-depth poker theory presentations.”
