European Poker Tour Player of the Year to be Decided by Global Poker Index

The European Poker Tour (EPT) has announced that its Player of the Year award will be determined by the number of points accumulated under the Global Poker Index (GPI) rating system, beginning with the kickoff of Season 10 in Barcelona.

  • The player that wins POY will receive €50,000 to enter the main event of any poker tour held around the world that is operated by Rational Group.
  • The GPI scoring formula awards points in EPT tournaments with at least 24 entrants that are open to all players.
  • Players can also earn points toward POY in local poker festivals that are held in conjunction with EPT events such as the Estrellas Poker Tour which provided preliminary action prior to the EPT Main Event in Barcelona.

The European Poker Tour Barcelona (EPT) €50,000 Super High Roller came to a conclusion over the Labor Day weekend and it was Russian professional poker player Vitaly Lunkin who claimed the trophy, Shamballa Jewels bracelet and €771,300 first place prize.

  • The high priced event drew 40 of the games biggest names for a total of 51 entries, thanks to 11 rebuys, generating a healthy prize pool of nearly €2,500,000.

In the clip, Gill moves all in on the turn with top two pair and talks his opponent into calling with just top pair. Gill even correctly identifies his opponents’ hand before it was shown—“All you need is a queen,” he said, putting his opponent correctly on AQ. I’m sure you can guess the rest.
