Exclusive: New Rafa Nadal Poker Doc to Feature Matrix-Like “Time Freeze” Technology

Rafa Nadal will be the subject of a documentary to be released in 2014, with special footage shot at a charity event tomorrow at EPT Prague.

  • Rafa Nadal will compete Thursday in a €100,000 charity poker tournament at the EPT Prague, in which “freeze frame” technology, using 80 digital cameras, will capture all the action to be used for a forthcoming documentary.
  • The effect was popularized by the “bullet time” in the Hollywood blockbuster, The Matrix.
  • The footage will be used as part of a documentary planned for a release across Europe next year.

Rational Group Locked Out of New Jersey

“Unresolved federal indictment” against PokerStars founder Scheinberg cited as primary reason for 2-year application suspension.

  • Rational’s license application has been suspended, although a review of its application may come if “circumstances change.”
  • The reason for the denial is due to the “continued association with its founder, Isai Scheinberg.”

Confirmed: EPT Barcelona Laptop Infected with Screen-Sharing Trojan

IT security experts confirm that a Remote Access Trojan (RAT) was installed on laptops left in hotel rooms at the EPT Barcelona.

  • IT Security company, F-Secure has published details of the trojan program that was used in an attempt to defraud players during the EPT Barcelona.
  • Experts at F-Secure identified a Remote Access Trojan (RAT). The program was apparently installed from a USB.
  • The RAT enabled fraudsters to use a remote view of a player’s screen to see their hole cards during play.
  • F-Secure decided that the attack type deserved its own name, “Sharking,” defined as “targeted attacks against professional poker players.

Infiniti Poker Finally Launches Real Money Bitcoin Poker

USD and Bitcoin deposits are live, but for now all withdrawals are Bitcoin only.

  • Infiniti Poker’s real money—Bitcoin and USD—launch finally got under way on December 10.
  • Over the last two years, entrepreneur and CEO Michael Hajduk struggled with technology and financial issues to get his vision of a poker site up and running.
  • Choosing to use Bitcoin as the playing currency now appears prescient. Bitcoin only poker site SealsWithClubs (SWC) has seen cash game traffic reach a new peak.

PokerStars Slapped With A 525,600 Hand Penalty

In breaking news today, the New Jersey Division of Gaming Enforcement has put online poker giant PokerStars on penalty for two years, freezing them out of the recently regulated New Jersey online market. Apparently, the Garden State’s DGE had a problem with PokerStars founder Isai Scheinberg’s legal status within the US—meaning that even though he’s no longer an exec at PokerStars he’s still got that pesky Black Friday indictment to deal with.
