Upcoming Vote to Determine Fate of Player Funds Following Purple Lounge Collapse

The chances of players recovering money after Purple Lounge collapsed could be determined soon.

  • The Purple Lounge Player Claim Group is seeking to recover losses of around $600,000.
  • Players have been offered a deal where they would receive between 1% – 5% of their losses.
  • In order for this deal to occur, creditors representing at least 75% of the company’s debt must vote for a Company Voluntary Arrangement.
  • The meeting at which creditors must vote on the CVA has been scheduled for May 8.

EU Delays Decision on Lithuanian Online Gaming Bill

New legislation will be put on hold until at least August 8, while the EU Commission rules on compliance with EU treaties.

  • The EU has delayed making a decision on proposed Lithuanian gaming legislation submitted to it for review.
  • The new bill will remain in limbo until August 7.
  • The requirement to be registered as a corporation in Lithuania remains an issue that the EU is likely to find objectionable.

Online Poker Bill Introduced in New York State Assembly

New York lawmakers in both legislative houses now have online poker bills to consider.

  • New York State Assemblyman J Gary Pretlow has introduced a bill that would allow state regulated online poker.
  • The bill is a virtual replica of that introduced by State Senator John J. Bonacic in March.
  • The bill includes a bad actor clause and allows for interstate compacts.
