Player Strikes

PokerStars hosted a meeting with player advocates at their Montreal offices earlier this week to discuss the ongoing dispute over the reduced VIP benefits in 2016.

According to public tweets, known attendees include Dani Stern, a vocal opponent of the changes and a boycott organizer, Isaac “Ike” Haxton, a former PokerStars Team Pro who stepped down from his role over the issue, and Daniel Negreanu, the head of PokerStars’ pro roster and apparently acting as a form of mediator.

There has been no public reports yet following these meetings, but Stern tweeted that public dissemination will follow soon.

Aside from all the protests, PokerStars and parent company Amaya are moving forward with significant product development in 2016, with various new games and formats announced in recent days.
