Danish Government to Carry Out New Problem Gambling Study
Key Takeaways
  • Based on the results of the survey, the government will consider existing gambling legislation, how problem gambling is currently controlled, and strengthening efforts further.
  • Dozens of online poker rooms entered the lucrative market in 2012, which allowed for dot-DK sites to share liquidity with the wider dot-com player pool.

A comprehensive study into problem gambling will be undertaken in Denmark, it was announced Thursday.

The decision comes following the results of a new questionnaire survey, published by Gamblers Anonymous, that concludes that there has been an increase in the number of Danes who are identified as problem gamblers, or are at risk of becoming problem gamblers.
