Despite a technical hitch earlier in the day that resulted in a temporary cancellation, Ultimate Poker’s first Sunday multi-table tournament (MTT), a $10k guarantee with $100 buyin, was still a big success, selling all 200 seats over an hour before it commenced.

The tournament got underway at 6PM PST and ran for just over 5 and a half hours. The prize pool of $18,200 was distributed to the top 27 players. First prize of $4173 went to “d4heels.”

Presumably due to its “beta” status, the tournament was capped at only 200 players. The limit will likely be relaxed for future Sunday tournaments.

Also running successfully for the first time was the $1k guaranteed nightly tournament. The $50 buyin MTT, which will now run every day at 8pm PST, saw 75 register and reached a total prize pool of over $3.400.

Ultimate Poker also offers $100 daily freerolls, and a $10k freeroll is scheduled for May 26.

Earlier in the day, a technical hitch lead to the tournament being temporarily removed from the schedule.

Ultimate Poker became the first ever regulated poker room to deal a hand of poker online in the United States last week.

Since then, despite some technical and software problems, Nevadans have responded positively to the launch. Late last week, it dealt its 100,000th cash game hand, and hundreds of SNGs have run.
