The former Latin Series of Poker has renamed itself the Latin Poker Series (LPS) following a copyright infringement claim by the World Series of Poker, according to a press release issued by the LPS.

“Being under the microscope means that our tournament series is really making a name for itself on the world stage, and it confirms that we are doing things right in taking our events to the poker world,” LPS President Diego Chan stated.

Previous news entries on the official Latin Poker Series website have been titled to reflect the name change. New images are also displayed, prominently featuring an “LPS” logo.

The LSOP.com domain name still appears in Google when search for “Latin Series of Poker”, but clicking on the link directs users to LatinPokerSeries.com.

LPS Millions II

The Latin Poker Series has scheduled its second installment of its “Millions” tournament series for September 13-20, 2014.

The first series, formerly recognized as the “LSOP Millions,” was headlined by Carter Gill’s victory in the $850 NLHE championship event for $175,070 in March of this year.

The main event is unique in that it holds several Day 1s in different countries before converging the remaining player field at the Majestic Casino in Panama City, Panama.

Satellites into the LPS Millions II Main Event are currently being offered by BetCRIS Poker and Americas Cardroom.
