Churchill Downs Buys Bluff Media

In a press release issued on Friday, Churchill Downs Incorporated announced that it had purchased the assets of Bluff Media. The assets include BLUFF Magazine, the company’s online properties including BluffMagazine.com and various other domain names, ThePokerDB, and a collection of blogs, forums and Bluff’s player ranking systems. The terms of the sale were not disclosed.

In the release, Churchill Downs made clear that their intentions in purchasing the poker media company was to position themselves favorably “in the event there is a liberalization of state or federal laws with respect to Internet poker in the United States.”

The deal also includes the talent at the top of Bluff. Co-presidents Eddy Kleid and Eric Morris and vice president of online operations Jeff Markley will stay on in their current capacity.
