PokerStars Rolls Out Low Stakes Zoom Poker, Micro Fixed Limit

The rollout of Zoom Poker continues: Today, PokerStars updated the client to include $0.5/1 NL and PLO Zoom player pools, 1 at 6max and another full ring. In addition, the first fixed limit real money zoom table has gone live with a single 10c/20c 6max now available.

Despite a few minor teething problems, the Zoom Poker beta test has been a success and proven popular among players. At the time of writing, around 10,000 seats are currently filled at real money zoom tables, across eight NL, 3 PLO and 1 FL pools. The nano-stakes games are consistently at the caps and hundreds fill the higher games around the clock. The newly introduced NL100 tables already have over 1000 players in the 2 player pools.

The introduction of Zoom has not gone entirely smoothly: a few minor bugs have been reported and are not yet fixed, and the issues have delayed the roll-out of the game to the poker clients in regulated markets that share the same player pool (Estonia, Denmark, Belgium and the new dot.eu site).

Zoom still sports the “beta” tag and PokerStars is taking care to roll out the stakes carefully and see how player pools in the regular cash games are affected. The poker room has hinted at both Zoom tournaments and support for Zoom on the new mobile application, although no timescale has been released.
