The $100k buy in exclusive World Poker Tour (WPT) Alpha8 tournament series will be premiered on Fox Sports on Sunday, March 16.

The first show covers the first ever WPT Alpha8 which was held at the Seminole Hard Rock Casino in Florida. Since then, events have been held in St Kitts and London. The series continues at the Emperors Palace Casino Resort in Johannesburg on February 14.

All will be televised with four hours of coverage devoted to each event. Ali Nejad and Olivier Busquet will provide expert commentary.

WPT President Adam Pliska explains that the attraction of the series is not only the poker: “This show—and these events—are designed to provide the players and viewers with unforgettable experiences both on and off the felt.”

Players who enter the Johannesburg event will be invited to enjoy a three day safari at the Ivory Tree Game Lodge where they can expect to see “lions, leopards, rhinoceros, elephant, buffalo, cheetah, giraffe, zebra, and more than 300 different bird species in their natural habitat.”
