Canadian players who deposit on PokerStars are being offered a country specific incentive.

Every deposit less than $50 until October 8 will earn a ticket to a weekly Canada All-in Shootout tournament.

Although players need to register for each tournament, they do not actually have to turn up to play. Every player is automatically all-in on every hand.

Each Canada All-in Shootout tournament will take place at 20:00 EST, on every Thursday until the end of the promotion. $1,000 is given away in each event, adding up to a total of $10k to be won during the promotion.

Any player who makes a deposit of $50 or more will also earn entry to a freeroll tournament with a $2,500 added prize pool, Sunday, October 12.

Canada Focus

The timing of this promotion couldn’t be better. Following Canadian company Amaya’s purchase of PokerStars and Full Tilt, the poker forums have been full of rumors that the new owners will stop serving Canadian customers.

The late decision to cancel the PokerStars branding of the Montreal Poker Festival, less than three weeks before the event starts, did nothing to quell speculation.

PokerStars has robustly denied any such intentions and publicly stated that its new ownership will not affect its ability to serve the Canadian market—it intends to continue serving all the markets where it currently operates.

The Canada All-in Shootout promotion both celebrates the fact that the Rational Group’s new owners are Canadian, and in encouraging new Canadian sign ups, sets out a commitment to continue operating in the country.
