  • On the same day, the PokerStars Spain ESCOOP Main Event started, and it drew a field of 1,915 players. The €200 gained entry to a €200k guaranteed tournament. The eventual prize pool also smashed the guarantee, reaching €352.7k.
  • The message from the French market is that an increase to allow higher buy ins could give the Spanish market some of the headline tournament guarantees that do so much to attract new players.

PokerStars’ Championship tournament series in the regulated markets have finished, and guarantees were easily met across the board.

The Main Events for each started last weekend. The biggest of the three, the PokerStars France FCOOP Main Event, ended registration with 1,345 players, generating a total prize pool of €1.27 million.

The event came with a €1,000 buy in and a €1 million guarantee. The total entries are slightly down on 2013 when 1,416 players competed, and almost identical with the 2012 entry of 1,344 players.
