Everything You Need To Know About The Garden State Super Series II Everything You Need To Know About The Garden State Super Series II

The second running of The Garden State Super Series (GSSS) begins on Sunday, January 11 and runs through Sunday, January 25, 2015. You can play it on either Borgata Poker or partypoker New Jersey, two online poker rooms regulated in the state of New Jersey.

The series culminates with the World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Poker Open. The televised live event runs from January 25 through January 30 and features a $3300 + $200 buy-in and a $3 million guaranteed prize pool.

The GSSS II offers 23 online events in a variety of games and formats with each event having three separate buy-in levels to accommodate players of all size bankrolls. A total of 69 online tournaments will be offered during the series with a total guaranteed prize pool of over $1 million.

If the low-level buy-ins—which start for as little as $5—are still too steep for your bankroll, you can satellite your way into events for as little as $0.25. Qualifiers have already started running so you can start accumulating your GSSS buy-ins.

The organizers made some changes to the GSSS since its first running in September, the most prominent of which is a change to the payout structures which now offers bigger prizes to those skilled enough to cash in the events.

Nine more events have been added including the new Speed Down event (#21) in which the tournaments structure slows down as the tournament progresses, the Super Bounty event (#16) where half of the prize pool goes to pay the bounties and, for the first time, the GSSS will include a Heads-up No Limit Hold’em event (#15).

There has also been changes to the structure of the series. The main event will now be held on the final day of the series and mixed games will no longer be grouped together on the same day, but instead will run alongside the No Limit Hold’em events.

Players from all over the world are expected to embark upon New Jersey to play the World Poker Tour Borgata Winter Poker Open. Many of these players will also be playing the GSSS making for some large prize pools.
