Pokerfuse has learned that the Merge Network has stopped accepting new players from the state of New York. Currently Merge, the largest US-facing poker network, has yet to release an official statement on the topic.

Though a post announcing this change in policy was made on 2+2 by a representative of one of the Merge skins, it has since been deleted.

Other reports are indicating that existing New York state players will continue to be served by the network without limitations on deposits or withdraws.

The Merge Network emerged as the world’s largest US-facing online poker site after the events of “Black Friday,” when the US government’s actions against PokerStars, Full Tilt Poker and the Cereus Network significantly reduced Americans’ options for real money online poker.
