Patrik Antonius Promotes iGame.com with New Heads Up Challenge Patrik Antonius Promotes iGame.com with New Heads Up Challenge

Patrik Antonius has signed a deal to promote new online gaming brand iGame.com. Players have the chance to go up against the ex-FTP pro in a heads-up challenge and the chance to win €20k.

A €330 buyin tournament will be run on July 8 to decide who gets the opportunity to play heads up against Antonius. 36 seats will be given away in freerolls and Facebook promotions.

The victor of the MTT will then move on to play the famous Fin. The challenger has the opportunity to win up to €20k if he defeats Patrick over 2 live-streamed heads-up events.

It is thought to be the first time a member of Team Full Tilt has signed a deal to promote another poker room since the demise of Full Tilt Poker almost a year ago. Antonius is considered one of the most recognizable faces in online poker, having been a regular on televised poker series Poker After Dark, High Stakes Poker and a grinder in the nosebleed cash games on Full Tilt. He is regarded by many as one of the best heads up PLO players in the world.

The iGame.com brand recently launched, first with a poker skin on the new fast-fold poker network developed by Relax Gaming, and later with the addition of a traditional poker room on IGT/Entraction. iGame Ltd, based in Malta, also operates the Finnish PokeriHuone brand and IGT skin 24hPoker. The freeroll and challenge itself will all occur on IGT.

Ironically, Antonius still has not completed the original heads up challenge—an epic 50,000 hand 4-tabling match against Tom “durrrr” Dwan. The event commenced over three years ago but, due to “scheduling issues,” the challenge dragged on, and with Full Tilt remaining offline it is unclear if or when the challenge will resume.
