The seven-day moving average of cash game players on PokerStars will reach the highest point in a year, and will rise to pre-Black Friday traffic levels, thanks to the 100 billion hand promotion.

The number of cash game players in the week ending June 11, based on data observed by independent monitor PokerScout, recorded an average of 27,065 players, up from a norm of approximately 20,000, a 35% increase. The daily average yesterday was just a shade under 30,000.

At least 24 hours remain until the 100 billionth hand. $800,000 has been given away since saturday in milestone hands, with $200,000 remaining, and $1,000,000 to be given away on the key hand.

PokerStars milestone surge

The previous high came during the 95 billionth hand promotion which, accompanied by the normal seasonal high, reached a seven day average of approximately 28,000 and a daily peak of just under 30,000. Traffic increases of approximately 20% have been observed at previous milestones.
