With nearly $5 million in live tournament winnings alone, Doug “WCGRider” Polk is a highly accomplished and respected poker professional. Polk is perhaps most well-known for his expertise at Heads Up No Limit Hold’em where he is considered by many as the best in the world.
Like other poker professionals, Polk has utilized the popular social media platform Twitch to great success. Appearing on the Upswing Poker channel—a poker training website he started with longtime poker professionals Ryan Fee and Matt Colletta—Polk broke the record for the biggest online poker win in Twitch livestreaming history when he took down a $700 buy-in MTT on PokerStars that paid out $162,000 for first place.
We got the chance to ask Polk some questions about his thoughts and experiences with Twitch and the live streaming revolution.
