Portugal

Former Deputy Tourism Minister Adolfo Mesquita Nunes has written to the Portuguese players association Anaon opposing the proposed segregation of Portugal’s online poker market.

He explains that there were no proposals to segregate the market when he was in office, and that an open market was the best way to comply with EU treaties.

The Portuguese government recently changed when the governing center-right coalition lost its majority in parliament. The center-left Socialist party allied with the Communist party and an extreme left wing group to force a change in government.
