WSOP, GGPoker Solidify Partnership with "Extensive" Online Schedule for 2021 WSOP, GGPoker Solidify Partnership with "Extensive" Online Schedule for 2021
Key Takeaways
  • GGPoker will host a $100 million-guaranteed Super Circuit Series awarding 20 rings—two of which will go to cash game players.
  • The operator will also host the international portion of WSOP Online again, this time with 33 bracelets on offer.
  • It will also offer satellites to the Main Event in Las Vegas for the very first time.
  • This suggests the end of a long-standing partnership with 888 to offer exclusive WSOP satellites.

The World Series of Poker (WSOP) has announced a mammoth schedule for international players on the dot-com network GGPoker which encompasses a month-long Super Circuit Online Series and an international WSOP Online 2021 with almost three-dozen bracelet events.

It has also revealed that, for the very first time, GGPoker will offer official satellites to the Las Vegas Main Event, suggesting the end of a long-standing partnership with 888poker as the exclusive provider in the international market.

“The bar has been set with last year’s record-breaking series, but we’re hoping to raise it even higher this year,” said Gregory Chochon, Director of the World Series of Poker, in Monday’s press release.

It was expected, but until now unconfirmed, that WSOP.com USA would extend its partnership with the growing GGPoker network. The pair’s efforts last year were tremendously successful, with a $100 Super Circuit Series, a record-setting WSOP 2020 Online bracelet series, a hybrid live-online Main Event and another nine-figure Winter Series which concluded three months ago.

The plan this year is similar, though with a few tweaks to prepare for a bigger live series.

“One of our goals is to provide as many people the chance to become champions as possible,” added Chochon. “However, we know not everyone can or is comfortable traveling yet, so continuing a robust online bracelet offering in 2021 is a must.”
