Key Takeaways
  • It will mark only the second regulated online poker room to go live in Switzerland since the country’s law was enacted.
  • Players will use the 777 account system and cashier but can seamlessly move money to and from the poker room.
  • The timeline to market is extreme, even for an industry littered with examples of lengthy regulatory approval processes.

It has taken two years, but online poker giant PokerStars will launch its platform in Switzerland through a deal with Casino Davos next month, PRO can reveal.

The site will launch on PokerStars.CH. Accounts and deposits are handled by Casino777.ch, though new players will be able to sign up for an account through PokerStars.CH if they wish.

After verification, players can download the desktop client and access the global PokerStars player pool. Apps in the Apple App Store are expected to be approved soon after launch.

Once live, players will be able to “take part in all PokerStars offers, including the big international tournaments that PokerStars organizes worldwide,” said Robert Kocher, The Chief Gaming Officer of Casino777.ch.
