The 2021 World Series of Poker has officially commenced on July 1 with the domestic portion of the WSOP Online Bracelet Events.

Nearly $2 million in prize money has been generated across the first four events, in which only players located in two regulated states can participate.

Compared to the same period in the previous year, the 2021 WSOP Online is off to a slower start. However, only two of the first four tournaments were identical; the other two featured different price tags.

In total, the domestic portion is slated to run from July 1 until August 1 and includes 33 gold bracelet events, up by two from 2020. As has been the case in the past, the tournaments take place on the WSOP.com platform powered by 888poker.

While the network is also present in Delaware, and both brands plans to expand into further regulated US states soon, the current series is only available to players physically located in Nevada and New Jersey.

Across the first four gold bracelet events in 2021, a total of 4,115 entries have emerged. They created prize pools just shy of $2 million and an average of more than $486k in each bracelet event.

Three of the events featured the $500 buy-in whereas one was slightly more expensive with a price tag of $600.
