Online poker giant PokerStars has reentered the online poker market in Switzerland—almost exactly to the day after a two-year spell on the sidelines.

On Tuesday July 6, in the evening, PokerStars opened its doors to Swiss players, becoming the second operator to offer its gaming services in the regulated market.

As previously confirmed, PokerStars has partnered with Casino Davos and completed preparations that were two years in the making. Last month, PRO exclusively confirmed that the site will be going live in July.

As predicted earlier, PokerStars is only providing the online poker vertical; Davos offers the online casino via its established 777 brand. Customers with previously existing accounts are prompted to create a new Casino777.ch account and new alias for the online poker platform. The 777 brand logo is prominently displayed in the main PokerStars lobby and forwards to the official casino website.

“PokerStars is one of the world’s largest and most trusted online poker brands. We are excited to partner with Casino Davos to bring PokerStars to Switzerland as we continue to deliver on our strategy of attaining podium positions in international regulated markets,” Dan Taylor, CEO of parent company Flutter Entertainment Plc said to PRO.
