New online poker giant GGPoker has received a license to offer online poker in Belgium under the GGPoker.be domain.

Starting July 31, Belgian players will be able to sign up and play on the world’s newest leading online poker network. It will be the only fourth active online poker room to operate in the regulated market of Belgium after PokerStars, Entain/partypoker (under the bwin brand), and Unibet.

“We’re happy to bring our poker product and innovation to the underserved Belgian market,” said Marco Trucco, Head of Europe of GGPoker.

This will mark GGPoker Network (GGPN)'s return to the country after nearly two years. The network, including its flagship skin Natural8, had withdrawn from a dozen European markets including Belgium in late 2019, where it had operated from an offshore license.

At the time, Jean-Christophe Antoine, Head of GGPoker Network at NSUS Group, commented to PRO “we did pull out of some European countries due to regulation and we are looking into either acquiring licenses or [partnering] with locally licensed operators.”
