The Campeonato Espana de Poker (CEP), Spain’s longest-running live poker tour, is set to resume later this month.
The next stop on the Spanish tour starts this Friday at Casino Barcelona and runs for ten days. There are six events on the schedule, with a Main Event and Mini Main supported by a High Roller, Super KO, a two-day Opening event and a closing “Bye Bye” tournament.
It represents one of the first major tournament festivals to return to the live felt in western Europe since the outbreak of the coronavirus pandemic a year ago, and one of the few PokerStars-sponsored tournaments held since early 2020.
For the CEP, it marks the resumption of the 2020 season, where only the first of seven planned stops for that season could run. Organizers are extending this one season into this year and beyond: Future events in other casinos across Spain are planned through to the end of 2022. The results of the one 2020 stop, this 2021 Barcelona stop, and all others through to the end of next year will count together towards the overall season leaderboard.
