Key Takeaways

Winamax has launched another round of Expresso x Uno, the promotional mini-game at its lottery sit and go tables that distributes extra prize money to regular Expresso players.

It is the third outing of the promotion, which is officially licensed from board game manufacturer Mattel. It is also the third such promotion in just four months, with Uno 2 coming last August and Expresso x Monopoly, a similar licensed promotion, which returned for its third outing in October.

This edition is titled Winamax Expresso x Uno 50, under the strapline “a birthday worth celebrating.” While not actually specified in any promotional material, this is in reference to Uno’s 50th birthday: The game was invented in 1971.

Originally created by a family in Cincinnati, the rights to the game were later sold to a group of friends that formed “International Games inc.” This company sold it for almost 30 years; in 1992, the company was acquired by Mattel.
