The 2021 World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main Event enjoyed a record-breaking event, attracting nearly 700 entries, the most in its 14-year-long history.

This comes despite the world still reeling from the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic, with many countries, especially in Europe, reporting all-time high cases.

The €10,350 buy-in Main pulled in 688 entries across its two days of starting flights plus five levels of late registration on Day 2. This was enough to surpass its €5 million guarantee by 30% and end with a total prize pool of €6.5 million.

The turnout marks a 27% increase over the field of 2019. It also beats the previous record set in 2011 when 593 entrants took part.
