Online poker giant PokerStars has tapped into the resurgent webcam poker market as it trials “Video Chat” tables onto its Home Games product, PRO can reveal.

It joins the increasing trend of webcam integration directly on the poker tables, seeking to replicate the experience of a live home game as closely as possible by allowing players to see and interact with each other while playing.

The new Video Chat functionality comes as part of a new and revamped Home Games platform currently available in beta on the operator’s web-based interface only. It is available only in limited jurisdictions under pokerstars.com/homegames in the dot-com market and pokerstars.eu/homegames for players in under its EU site.

The new layout is not yet available on the desktop and mobile platforms but is expected to roll out in early 2022, PRO understands.

“Listening to player feedback, we’ve been working on the innovation and improvement of our Home Games, to give our community a more connected, enriched and exciting experience,” a spokesperson of PokerStars told PRO. “The new Home Games offering is now in beta testing on our web-based lobby. Player feedback has, and will continue to form, a key part of its evolution.”
