Even though he lives in London and is playing the WSOP Main Event Final Table in Las Vegas, Jorryt van Hoof can’t get a sponsorship deal with 888poker because of Dutch regulations.

The first Dutch player to make the November Nine was Michiel Brummelhuis in 2013—and when he got there, he sported branding from his sponsorship deal with 888. Brummelhuis told journalist Remko Rinkema that 888 was equally keen to sponsor his compatriot.

No deal was done, and Brummelhuis claims that this was because the regulator Kansspelautoriteit wrote to 888 earlier this year explaining that Brummelhuis could not actively take part in any promotional activities for 888 because this would be considered to be advertising to the Dutch market—the same restrictions would apply to van Hoof.
