Much of the attention is a result of Hollreiser addressing the effects of the announced changes to the PokerStars VIP program. From the players strike including the impact it had on action at the poker room to how the VIP changes are expected to assist the ecosystem as a whole, Hollreiser laid out the company’s argument for the need to make such drastic adjustments.
However, many affected players took exception to the tone of the post with one high-profile player accusing Hollreiser of failing to “be able to hide his contempt for his customers.” The post even inspired a topic-by-topic dissection comparing the shift in policy to love gone bad.
