Entain, parent company of partypoker and part of the US-facing BetMGM joint venture, said it will double the number of employees at its in-house gaming studios to around 300 people within a year. It also announced that it will launch a virtual reality “sports club” entertainment experience, the first of its kind, later this year.

The sports betting and gaming giant said the staffing increases would occur across its studios in the UK, India and Italy. The higher headcount was necessary to accelerate product development across all the markets it serves, including the US.

“We love giving our customers great experiences and exciting entertainment as that is the bedrock of what we do,” said CEO Jette Nygaard-Andersen. “Increasing our investment across all three of our in-house games studios will provide more of that for our customers across all our global brands.”
