Unibet has become the first operator to pull out of the German online poker market having previously served players following new market regulation.

The international operator initially limited the poker offering for German customers after the new Glücksspielneuregulierungsstaatsvertrag (GlüNeuRStV-E) went into effect on July 1. It has now closed all access as of September 21.

German customers will see their existing tickets, points and bonuses converted to cash. They will no longer be able to participate in any online poker, though they can still place sports bets for the time being.
