The Third Circuit Court of Appeals issued a ruling on Tuesday that denied New Jersey racetracks and casinos the ability to offer sports betting.

A panel of three judges voted 2 to 1 to uphold the federal ban on sports betting. The state is expected to appeal the ruling “en banc,” which would put the matter before the entire Third Circuit Appellate Court.
