The California Nations Indian Gaming Association (CNIGA) Chairman Steve Stallings has called for the legalisation of online poker before acting on Daily Fantasy Sports (DFS).

“The regulation of fantasy sports is well intended. However, the state needs to prove it can deal with one online game–I-Poker—before it takes on others,” said Stallings.

Stallings expressed his disappointment that online poker was pulled from the agenda of a recent California Assembly Governmental Organization Committee hearing on January 6, while Assemblyman Adam Gray’s AB 1437 bill to legalize DFS was passed by the committee.
