Sunday Sale Offers Half-Price Value at 888poker Sunday Sale Offers Half-Price Value at 888poker

888poker is doubling the value this Sunday with a Sunday Sale. Players on the platform will see buy-ins slashed by half on June 20, but the guarantees stay the same.

This is not the first time 888poker has slashed the cost of its marquee Sunday tournaments. The Sunday Sale is something of a tradition for the operator, with the last one running on January 24 of this year.

It ran the promotion several times in 2020, with the final running that year on November 28.

The latest Sunday Sale comes on the heels of the most recent XL Spring Series, which was a bit of a mixed bag for the operator.

It really came down to the final day, as the series was running marginally in the black until then, but a big miss on the final day in the Main Event and other games meant a small loss overall.

Made to Play at Half the Price

It has been a while since 888poker put on a Sunday Sale, so this Sunday’s event is long overdue. It ran the promotion several times during the pandemic-fueled frenzy of 2020, but this Sunday’s sale marks only the second such offer in 2021.

The sale applies to three big games 888poker runs on Sunday, the Big Shot, the Main Event, and the High Roller. With the special Sunday Sale prices applied, there is a lot of value on offer for players.

Over the three events, players are guaranteed almost $650 for every dollar of buy-in (gtd/buy-in), but the Main Event looks especially juicy. With $150,000 guaranteed and just $55 to enter, there is a whopping $2,727.27 gtd/buy-in for that event.

Sunday Sale Games Jun 20 2021

Game Buy-In Guarantee Gtd/Buy-In
Sunday Sale Big Shot $27.50 $25,000 $909.09
Sunday Sale Main Event $55.00 $150,000 $2,727.27
Sunday Sale High Roller $265.00 $50,000 $188.68
$347.50 $225,000.00 $647.48

The Big Shot also looks like a great value on Sunday. With the most affordable price tag of $27.50, players still get more than $900 gtd/buy-in.

There is even more value on offer for players who qualify through satellites. There are satellites running in the client now for the Main Event, with the chance to play into the amazing value from a freeroll.

Reduced Buy-Ins a Recent Trend

The Sunday Sale ties into a recent trend of reduced buy-in games with good value. The recent XL Spring Series on 888poker featured a micro-stakes level throughout the series with buy-ins as low as $5.50 and value as high as $1,818.18 gtd/buy-in.

Additionally, 888poker recently added the Made to Amaze game to its Sunday schedule. While Made to Amaze is not part of the Sunday Sale, the $5 price tag for $10,000 in guarantees is already a bargain without even considering the huge special prizes on offer for the winner.

The Sunday Sale also coincides with a similar offer from rival PokerStars. This Sunday it will offer a slate of six games at half the usual price, including the Half Price Sunday Million for $54.50 and the Half Price Sunday Storm for $5.50.

Big Moves in 2021

This Sunday Sale comes after 18 months of big moves from 888poker. Throughout 2020, it rolled out its innovative new Poker 8 platform, updating a client that was very much out of date.

The software update brought 888poker in line with its competitors in the global online poker marketplace and allowed it to post its highest revenue numbers since 2017. The $63.1 million in earnings in 2020 halted two years of declining revenue with an almost 50% boost.

Another move in 2021 was aimed at increasing its profile in one of the new online poker battlegrounds, Twitch. The new 888pokerTV launched in conjunction with the WPTDeepStacks London Online Series earlier this year, and was live with coverage through the recent XL Spring Series as well.

888poker will be hoping to continue the momentum with the promotion this weekend. The Summer Sale runs on June 20, and satellites are currently running in the lobby for the cut-price Main Event.
