Daniel Negreanu Wins His First Online Title in SCOOP 39

Daniel Negreanu has won his first major online tournament. Victory in the 39th event of the PokerStars Spring Championship of Online Poker (SCOOP) brought him $216k in prize money.

The event was a 6 max PLO tournament with a $5,200 buy in. The high buy in kept the field down to 180 but that was still enough to more than cover the $400k guarantee—the final prize fund reached an impressive $900k.

Negreanu has been running hot this year, winning the first WSOP Asia Pacific Main Event for over $1m and coming 4th in the recent EPT Monte Carlo Grand Final for another $420k.

According to the Global Poker index (GPI) his live tournament winnings are now $17.8m and he is in 15th place in the GPI Top 300 which ranks players based on their live tournament performance over the last three years.
