Michigan online poker has had a larger online poker market than New Jersey for the last three months, coinciding with the March launch of WSOP MI in the state, according to estimates based in part on cash game traffic.

The launch of WSOP Michigan online poker also appears to have benefited Caesars in online casino gaming. Caesars Casino MI was in eighth place at the time of WSOP MI’s launch in March ($4.6 million) but moved up to fifth place in May ($6.5 million).

It’s likely that players on WSOP MI — including those participating in last month’s Spring Online Championship series, the first time it was held in the state — dabbled in some igaming on Caesars Casino MI.

According to the Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB), online poker and casino revenue totaled $127.4 million in May, a decrease of 3.8% from April ($132.5 million) but 34.3% higher than the mark set in May 2021 ($94.9 million).
