- Smith also scored a technical victory in the $100k buy-in Super High Roller for $2,044,766 less than a month ago at the Bellagio in which he agreed to an ICM chop as chip leader.
Carbon Poker Announces Third “Online Poker Series” for September
Carbon Poker, a member of the Merge Gaming Network, has announced the fourth installment of its “Online Poker Series.”
- The Carbon Online Poker Series III is set for this September and will guarantee $2 million in prizes over 79 events.
- The Series schedule overlaps with that of the PokerStars World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP).
NETELLER Bans Bitcoin
New terms of service prevent Bitcoin transactions.
- NETELLER’s new terms of service have introduced a policy banning the use of the payment processor for Bitcoin transactions.
- Bitcoin has been growing in popularity with online poker providers as the market for the virtual currency matures.
- NETELLER’s parent, Optimal Payments, has not commented on the decision, but it is possible that US federal government distrust of the currency has played a role in its decision.

Online Poker Market Nears Seasonal Low
Multiple markets are showing the market has bottomed out a month early. Cash game traffic statistics suggest that the global online poker market may have reached its seasonal low. If so, it has come a month earlier than in previous years.
