California Senator Pulls Online Poker Bill
Chances of 2014 being the year California passes online poker begin to slip away.
- With only three weeks left in the legislative session, California Senator Lou Correa (D-Santa Ana) has announced that he has tabled his online poker bill, SB 1366.
- State Assembly bill AB 2291, introduced by Assemblymember Reginald Jones-Sawyer (D-59), is still a viable option, but with each passing day, its chances of passing continue to fade.

A stress saving “make a deal” option gave the top two finishers $45,000 each.
- The day after Full Tilt added $50 buy in tournaments to its Jackpot Sit & Gos, the top prize of $100k has been hit.
- After the third placed player busted, and with the two remaining players each guaranteed at least $15,000, the tournament had suddenly become a $60,000 winner take all heads up match.
Global Poker Index Announces Two New Strategic Partners
The Poker Ranking Authority strikes deals with PokerPlayer Magazine and the Aria Resort and Casino to use its ranking system.
- In order to bring greater distribution to its poker content, the poker player ranking website has aligned itself with the publisher of PokerPlayer and American PokerPlayer magazine.
- At the same time, GPI has announced that the popular Aria Resort and Casino’s Poker Room in Las Vegas will be utilizing the GPI branded leaderboard to track the performance of players in the Aria’s daily tournaments.
