Marketing highlight of this week was partypoker New Jersey’s response to major technical problems during the Garden State Super Series (GSSS).

The big Sunday events of the $1 million guaranteed series were all cancelled mid-way through. After the initial commotion, partypoker started to turn a public relations catastrophe into an opportunity to prove its commitment to customer service and integrity.

Group Director of Poker Jeffrey Haas personally posted an explanation and apology on 2+2. Even though late registration was still available for some of the cancelled tournaments, which meant the entries were still well short of the guarantee, the remaining players in the tournaments shared in a distribution of the full guaranteed prize pool.
