Daily Fantasy Sports NFL Picks of the Week Daily Fantasy Sports NFL Picks of the Week

Quarterbacks

Blue Chip – Not considering salary, there are three quarterbacks with a lot of potential to score a massive amounts of points this week, and you should be giving them and their wide receivers strong consideration when building your daily fantasy lineups for Week 2.

Drew Brees is a stud at home, and this week he will be in New Orleans under the dome facing the Tampa Bay defense that last week gave up four touchdown passes to rookie Marcus Mariota. Expect Brees to break out and have a monster day. The only concern here is that they will be up so much in the first half that he may not throw a pass the entire second half.

The next two quarterbacks we are recommending will be facing each other at the Meadowlands on Sunday afternoon. Matt Ryan who threw two touchdowns and just missed 300 yards passing last week against the Eagles will be facing another weak defense against the pass in the New York Giants. Ryan’s road performances improved last year and we see no reason not to expect that he will be able to have his way with the Giants defense this week.

Eli Manning is a bit of a sneaky play this week as he is likely to have a low ownership percentage. Atlanta’s defense was torched by Philadelphia last week, and Manning will be in front of the home crowd looking to avenge a heartbreaking loss last week against Dallas.

Value – Our value pick of the week at the QB position is Carson Palmer. Sitting outside the top 10 salaried quarterbacks on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Palmer will be going into Soldier Field minus his starting running back and up against a defense that is struggling to find its identity. Palmer threw for three touchdowns and over 300 yards last week against New Orleans, and we expect that this week will be no different in Chicago.

Running backs

Blue Chip – Our top selection at the running back position this week is Seattle’s Marshawn Lynch. Playing on Monday night against the Packers, who last week could not find an answer for Matt Forte, Lynch is expected to be a major part of the Seahawks’ game plan to keep the Packers off the field with their running game.

Jeremy Hill once again makes our list, this week he will be at home facing the San Diego Chargers. We expect the power running game of the Bengals to set the tone early in this one with Hill being the primary beneficiary.

The aforementioned Matt Forte also makes our list this week. Last week the Cardinal defense had a tough time stopping Saints running backs coming out of the backfield to catch passes and Forte is one of the premier pass catching running backs in the league. Add to that Alshon Jeffery’s reaggravated calf injury, and it looks as if the Bears will lean heavily on Forte to provide their offense.

Value – Our value pick the week at the running back position is Detroit’s Ameer Abdullah. He is way down the list in terms of salary, and his debut performance last week could mean plenty more touches and scoring opportunities for the rookie.

FanDuel is giving away $5 Million is a single contest this week with the winner getting $1 Million!

Wide Receivers

Blue Chip – The Falcons vs Giants game has all the markings to be a real shootout. Capitalizing on all of those points scored will be Atlanta’s Julio Jones and York’s Odell Beckham Jr. not wanting to be outdone by the other, each of these big receiving threats is poised to have a big game on Sunday.

Value – Just outside the top 10 on the salary lists of both DraftKings and FanDuel are Jordan Matthews of the Philadelphia Eagles and Brandin Cooks of the New Orleans Saints. It will be a homecoming for both teams. Last week Matthews established himself as Sam Bradford’s go to receiver, and Cooks is the main target of our blue chip pick at quarterback Drew Brees.

Tight End

Blue Chip – It is hard not to roster Rob Gronkowski on any given week. This week will be a grudge match against division rival Buffalo, and even though they have a great defense, the Patriots will be developing a scheme to make sure they could Gronkowski the ball. If you cannot afford the big salary number, it is hard to beat his upside.

Look for Greg Olsen of the Carolina Panthers to have a bounce back week this week at home. The Panthers know they need to get him the ball in order to be successful on offense, and Houston struggled to contain tight end Travis Kelce last week, so we are looking for good things out of Olsen this week.

Value – Two tight ends that stand out farther down the salary list are Minnesota’s Kyle Rudolph San Francisco’s Vernon Davis. It seemed that last week Davis began to reestablish a connection with quarterback Colin Kaepernick after a terrible 2014 season.

Rudolph provides a big target and should find plenty of room to work this seams as Detroit loads the box to try and stop Adrian Peterson.
