Online poker rooms are breaking out the candles and party hats to celebrate the one-year anniversary of US regulated online poker in New Jersey. One year ago on today, online gaming operators in New Jersey opened their doors to a limited number of players for eight hours marking the first time ever US regulated online gambling took place in the state.

Players in New Jersey will be receiving gifts—in the form of promotions—as part of the celebration.

WSOP: Double Points and Anniversary Tournament Series

WSOP in New Jersey has a special anniversary tournament series planned offering over $40,000 in guaranteed prize pools. The special series runs from November 24 through November 30.

Also, cash game and sit and go players will earn double loyalty points next week. In order to opt into this special promotion, players must click the link in the pop-up window that will appear in the client starting on November 24.

In addition, starting at 9 AM local time on Tuesday, November 25, players can buy tournament tickets that offer a discount of 50% off of the tournament fees. The special sale only lasts for 24 hours and tickets must be purchased with a special order form that can be found here.

Borgata Poker: $100 “Hot Bonus”

Players at BorgataPoker can claim a $100 bonus with no deposit required.

The offer is considered a “hot” bonus and is cleared in $10 increments at the rate of 8 reward points for every bonus dollar. To take advantage of this offer you must sign into your account between November 21 and 23rd, click on new bonuses and opt into the “Hot $100 Bonus.”

Partypoker, on the same network as Borgata, has yet to announce a promotion celebrating the anniversary of its launch in New Jersey.

888: $10k Freerolls

888 is holding three $10,000 free roll tournaments as part of its one-year celebration. Beginning on Friday, 888 will hold one tournament each day over the weekend.

Each real money player registered on their site will receive a ticket to one of the freerolls, and it also provided players with the opportunity to enter all three tournaments by completing some basic missions.

Hopes for Year Two

Though revenues have not met expectations, there is a significant level of excitement as players in the industry look forward to the second year of regulated online gaming in New Jersey.

The addition of more financial operators that are willing to process igaming transactions bodes well for the industry. Improved geolocation technology promises to provide better service within the state. The possibility of new online poker rooms such as PokerStars, Full Tilt and Pala poker add excitement to future possibilities.

And, the possibility of New Jersey reaching an agreement with other jurisdictions that provide igaming within their borders shines even more hope on what could be a thriving US igaming industry.
